SLAMKONFERANSEN 2026
Fjell Technology Group AS would like to thank NCE Aquaculture and Arctic Salmon Centre, the organizers of the conference, and everyone who visited our stand.
Fjell enjoyed two excellent days in Hamarøy.
- Engaging discussions at our stand
- Insightful presentations
- Site visit to a closed containment fish farming facility with integrated sludge treatment
– all set against a backdrop of truly spectacular nature.
We also had the opportunity to visit the home of Knut Hamsun himself in Hamarøy, where his three children were born and where the Nobel Prize-winning novel "Growth of the Soil" was written.
We would like to thank the organizers for two fantastic days in the realm of Hamsun. Looking ahead, we remain hopeful that sludge from land-based aquaculture and marine sites can contribute to generating value instead of waste - as feedstock into profitable and sustainable value chains.

The potential - and utilisation - of fish sludge
Fjell Technology Group participated as both attendee and exhibitor at the Sludge Conference held at the Hamsun Center in Hamarøy.
The conference placed particular emphasis on sludge collection from marine sites, including logistics, regulatory frameworks, and practical experiences related to handling and disposal of sludge from sea-based locations.
Another key and highly interesting topic was the development of existing and future value chains for sludge.
SKIRA is our fully automated and proven system for wastewater treatment and sludge handling. Fjell is also dedicated to develop and commercialise new value chains for dried sludge. Fjell has ongoing R&D projects on dried sludge from fishfarms where we aim to producce high-value fuel.
